Description
Rome, “the Eternal City”, capital of Italy, is the scenery chosen for celebrating Italicus as the Urbs Eterna. The illustration is an architectural isometric composition, consisting of the main monuments that characterize the city: the Colosseum, the Trajan column, the Roman Forum, the Trevi fountain, the Pantheon, Piazza di Spagna and the Sant'Angelo bridge over the Tevere river. In letters’ shapes the landmarks with the color code # 379d8e, compose the word "Italicus" as in a puzzle underlying the entire compositional structure. The Italian aperitivo is celebrated on the terrace, while a cinema set from Cinecittà takes place on the teal carpet in the central area. Anita Ekberg stands triumphantly like a classical sculpture, symbol of beauty. The cinematic references relive with the iconic scene of "La Dolce Vita" in Trevi fountain, "The girls of Piazza di Spagna" climbing the steps of Trinità dei Monti, Audrey Hepburn on the vespa in "Roman Holiday" and the famous scene from "an American in Rome" with Alberto Sordi eating a plate of spaghetti and a bottle of Italicus on the table. Ancient and modern meet together, thanks to iconic characters from the fresco in the Vatican rooms "The School of Athens" by Raffaello Sanzio, stay around the Barcaccia fountain, while philosophers, characters from ancient Rome, centurions are distributed throughout the project. The cherubs fly around the bottle of Italicus which, like a Roman column, stands as the focal point of the entire composition. Different architectural scales highlight elements of the city, in the celebration of Italian art, history, beauty and classicism that composes Italicus, as well as the eternal city of Rome.
